The commercial kitchen essential. Wet chemical extinguishers are the only type rated for Class F fires — burning cooking oils and fats in deep fryers, woks, grills and range hoods. Water or powder on a fat fire can cause a violent flare-up, which is why food service sites, canteens, pubs, clubs and aged care kitchens are required to carry wet chemical.

The potassium-based agent reacts with the hot oil to form a thick soapy blanket across the surface. This seals off oxygen and cools the fuel below its auto-ignition point, so the fire can't flash back once the flames are out.

Servicing: wet chemical extinguishers require a six-monthly service under AS 1851 and replacement of the charge every five years. We can set your site up on a scheduled service program so your compliance records stay current.
